Ditch the Sugar
When it comes to staying healthy, sugar is a huge enemy and needs to GO! So, ditch the sugar! You can do this by substituting your sugar for natural sweeteners like honey, agape, etc. or even limiting how much sugar you intake. While the goal should be to ditch the sugar altogether for best results, starting somewhere and slowly is better than nothing!
Drink More Water
Water is essential in life and can be beneficial to a healthy routine! Water prevents dehydration, and aids in digestion, helps you get your nutrients, supports the body temperature, and much more!
If you don’t like tap water, bottled water is an alternative, or a water filtering system. Make drinking water enjoyable by keeping it cold and infusing with fruits to make it naturally flavored, and if you need to, drink it out of a pretty or inspirational bottle or glass! You should aim for eight glasses of water a day, but again, start slowly!
Add More Fresh Produce
Another essential healthy routine to follow is to add more fresh produce into your eating plan because fruits and vegetables are chock-full of vitamins and minerals, and they are natural, so you know they’re good for you!
They say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” and it’s for a good reason – eating a healthy diet of fresh produce does the body well and will help improve your immune system! Remember to eat the rainbow.
Exercise
How active are you? Do you exercise daily? Weekly? It’s essential to incorporate daily exercise, where possible, into your healthy routine. Exercising helps manage weight, keeps you active physically and mentally, promotes better sleep and focus, helps decrease the risk of some diseases, and helps lower depression and anxiety!
Perhaps start with walking around the block each morning, or doing 50 jumping jacks, download an app on your phone to start an easy challenge, or join a gym (there are online gyms available right now) – something to get you up and going physically – it doesn’t need to be strenuous!
Get Proper Sleep
Getting the right amount of sleep is very crucial to keeping a healthy routine because it can affect everything else on your list! Without sleep, you can’t function, and you need to perform! Sleep helps your body, but it also helps your brain! Think of getting proper sleep as a way to allow your body to refresh, recharge, and repair itself – and the mind! No wonder it’s so important!
Most people neglect the amount of sleep they need, and they suffer! Getting the proper amount of sleep for your body is such a simple, fast change you can apply to your life!
Start Slowly but Surely
Starting a healthy routine can be done if you commit, get disciplined, and take it slowly. You can rush into this, but it’s not something professionals recommend since this is something new, you will need the time to get used to this at your safe pace to avoid possible injury or significant setbacks.
Eventually, you will start to see changes to your health, and even if you don’t see noticeable results, you can rest knowing that you are doing everything you need to do for your overall health.
